George Longo (Chair of Board)

George Longo is President & CEO of his family office and GARA Holdings Inc. A seasoned business executive and sophisticated investor with extensive experience in acquiring and selling businesses. He has deep experience in all aspects of the insurance marketplace in Canada, the UK, and abroad, including a focus on new business development strategies to support the constantly evolving landscape. An entrepreneur his entire business career, George has served on numerous boards and is an early-stage investor and advisor to several young companies. George was a graduate of Western University and also previously on the board of the Ontario regulator for insurance brokers.

MJ Leslie

Mary Jane (MJ) Leslie is the owner of Chapter 3 Ltd., a consulting company that specializes in helping start- up companies and small businesses overcome obstacles and achieve growth objectives. MJ has spent her career working in the start-up world. She initially cut her teeth working for a Nova Scotia based tech-start-up that went on to be the largest healthcare-IT exit in Canadian history. Prior to founding Chapter 3, MJ held the role of Chief Growth Officer for LifeRaft, a threat intelligence SaaS company. During her tenure at LifeRaft, MJ was responsible for all aspects of revenue operations, including: Pre and Post-Sales, Customer Support, Client Success, Marketing, Communications, Shareholder Relations, and 50% of Product. MJ’s career has been specialized in the education and implementation of SaaS-based products and services, targeted in the security, technology, and healthcare industries. With a background in technology and communications, MJ understands the unique challenges arising from the global adoption of digital communication. Chapter 3 has worked with a variety of pre-seed, seed, and series A stage companies to advance their growth through go-to-market strategies.

Allan R MacDougall

Allan served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for 7 years prior to joining the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) where he spent almost 3 decades living and working in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. During his CSIS career Allan held the following positions: Chief of Counterterrorism, Director of Middle East and Africa Operations, and Director General of Global Operations. As part of his global remit, he managed the Service’s worldwide liaison and operational collection programs, and directed foreign counter terrorism operations in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Africa. 

Allan’s last position with CSIS was with the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for Canada’s analytic and operational engagements with its US counterparts. Allan brings an exceptionally unique and powerful perspective to ELi, with an incredible insight into the world of intelligence and security.

Michael Pace

Michael Pace practiced corporate and commercial law for 46 years in Toronto, primarily with Miller Thomson LLP , a national business law firm with offices in 10 Canadian cities. He retired from the practice of law in December, 2024. Michael served on and advised numerous boards of directors as part of his practice. He is now a member of several boards of directors and provides corporate and governance consulting services to businesses customers.

Debra Fraser

A true trailblazer, Debra is a highly skilled and successful IT entrepreneur. After 15 years in corporate sales, marketing, finance, and management, Deb moved to becoming co-founder and CEO of one of the first 3D Augmented Reality visualization solutions. Deb understands the power and benefit of being innovative and responsive within the information technology realm, and the impact of integrating a revolutionary technology within a large-scale, ever-evolving industry.

David Campbell

With an background in IT and the telecom industry David brings extensive experience in consulting, management, sales, and marketing.  

Currently working in the automotive sector and commercial real estate David specializes in acquisitions, renovations, and leasing opportunities.  This diverse experience has helped David develop adaptive and strong skills in management, sales techniques, negotiation, decision making and project planning. 

Peter Woodford

An experienced President with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Peter is skilled in negotiation, business planning, customer service, coaching, and sales. 

Peter has been immersed in the emergency number industry for over 15 years, sitting on committees at EENA (European Emergency Number Association) and an active member of NENA (North American Emergency Number Association). 

Peter’s continually engaged in discussions with regulators and emergency call system operators across North America and Europe.

Gary MacKenzie 

Gary MacKenzie is a lifelong entrepreneur with a proven track record of founding, growing, and exiting multiple successful private companies. Known for strategic clarity, operational excellence, and long-term value creation, Gary has built enduring businesses through disciplined execution and a deep understanding of building value. With decades of experience navigating complex markets, he brings a pragmatic and focussed leadership style to every board he has served on. Now an active investor in early- and growth-stage technology companies, Gary offers a unique blend of entrepreneurial instinct, investor acumen, and board-level maturity to high-potential businesses looking to scale responsibly and sustainably.
