Enhancing Public Safety with Responder Indoor Location Intelligence

February 12, 2025

On January 29, 2025, ELi Technology Inc., in collaboration with Critical Response Group (CRG), participated in a full-scale security exercise at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the exercise tested interagency coordination in a complex indoor environment with over 200 participants from law enforcement, fire rescue, and emergency medical teams.

First-Ever Use of TAK for Indoor Responder Tracking

ELi Technology Inc. and CRG successfully integrated the ATLS Location Services plug-in with CRG’s indoor floorplans and CIV TAK, providing real-time indoor tracking of first responders. This groundbreaking implementation delivered:

Full Situational Awareness – Real-time visibility of personnel during operations.
Seamless Multi-Level Tracking – Accurate positioning across floors with sub-9 feet precision.
No Additional Hardware Required – Utilized existing network infrastructure for easy deployment.

Advancing Public Safety with ELi & CRG

By combining CRG’s detailed Critical Response Graphics with ATLS’s real-time location intelligence, this exercise demonstrated the power of advanced situational awareness tools in high-pressure environments. The technology enables faster decision-making, better coordination, and increased safety for first responders.

Rob Salmon, President and Director of Technology at ELi, emphasized:
“This successful integration with CRG highlights how real-time location intelligence can transform emergency response, ensuring responders have the critical situational awareness they need when seconds matter.”
